Integrating into the Community
ABT offers this direct service in home and community settings to assist individuals in acquiring, maintaining and improving the skills necessary to not only live in the community, but also to live more independently, and to participate meaningfully in community life.
In order to achieve their full potential, individuals with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, need people who can identify their motivation and break down complex skills into simple steps that they can accomplish. At ABT, we focus on the individual’s current strengths and preferences to design support plans which assist individuals in developing socially appropriate skills to better access their communities.
Services consist of assistance, support and guidance in the general areas of:
- self-care
- health maintenance
- decision-making
